National AGM 2019

Once again hosted by our Association in Cahors.

Awareness raising event Montcuq market

To help raise awareness of our association in the south of our region, a stall was ‘manned’ at the popular Sunday market in Montcuq on 10 June 2018 by Heather Moorhead (President), Pat Lockett (National Trainer) Anna Shackleford (Vice-President) and Sophie Bagnall (Active Listener / client co-ordinator).The team were able to discuss the support CSF are able to provide to those affected by cancer.  We were delighted to enlist some new members, sell some copies of the recipe book by the ladies of ‘A Lot of Baking’ cake club and we also received donations.

CSF National Cycle for Life 2018

This 650km cycle ride took place from 19 – 31 May from Royan to Marseillan Plage, with 6 riders completing the entire length of the journey. They were joined each day by 9 riders covering a section to provide support. A total of 32 riders completed sections of the challenge.Of the 6 who undertook the whole journey were Elizabeth Merena and Curtis Breedlove from New York whom our Association was supporting, and who raised €1610,00. The overall amount raised from the cycle ride exceeded €10000,00!CSF (National) has no independent means of raising funds for the support services it provides to the 15 local Associations in France. It was hoped that Cycle for Life would provide funds to cover the cost of the annual 3-day Trainer Conference in November which is the most important event in the CSF year. It gives our trainers the opportunity to discuss and develop training, ensuring that our trained members (Active Listeners) provide high quality and consistent support services across France.

10th Anniversary Meeting

On Thursday 16 November 2017 at our HQ in Salviac, around 30 members and supporters came together to discuss and list essential household priorities, their location, accessibility and things like password storage. The aim of this Workshop was to ensure, each spouse / partner, or another family member or specific friend, was aware of where to find, access and implement these priorities.  Before the workshop began, Julie Danjean and Jill Warne-Cleave from the Facebook group ‘A Lot of Baking in the Lot’ presented the President, Heather Moorhead, with a cheque for €1161,50 This group of ladies meet monthly to share their cakes and recipes. They have since collected their recipes into a book, proceeds from the sale of which have been donated to CSF DeLot. They also hold online auctions that raise funds for our Association.  Thank you ladies.  Following this presentation the 10th birthday cake, provided by the ladies, was cut by the President and later in the afternoon, enjoyed by all with a cup of tea.
